Cloud Secure Web Gateway - Cloud SWG

Issue/Introduction

Users encounter an "Application error" immediately after entering credentials on the ADP login portal when traffic is proxied through Cloud SWG. This typically occurs during the security verification phase of the authentication process.

Environment

  • Cloud Secure Web Gateway (Cloud SWG)
  • WSS Agent
  • ADP Portal

Cause

  • "Application error" displayed on the ADP website.
  • HAR files show failed requests to security or telemetry domains.
  • Logs may show TCP_NC_MISS or 404 errors for background JavaScript resources.
  • SSL interception of third-party security and telemetry domains used by the ADP portal (such as AudioEye and Zeronaught) causes the authentication script to fail or time out.

Resolution

Bypass SSL interception for the following domains to allow the ADP login process to complete successfully:

  1. ADP Domains:
    • *.adp.com
    • my.adp.com
    • online.adp.com
    • signin.online.adp.com
  2. Security/Telemetry Domains:
    • *.online-metrix.net
    • *.zeronaught.com
    • wsv3cdn.audioeye.com
  3. Content Delivery Domains:
    • cdn.grapecity.com
    • cdn.pendo.io
    • cdn.walkme.com
    • www.glancecdn.net

Additional Information

If "Reset connection" errors persist after SSL bypass, ensure that HTTP/2 is disabled for these specific destinations in the Cloud SWG policy.
