CA Threat Analytics for PAM CA Privileged Access Manager (PAM)

Issue/Introduction

Users encounter the error "502 Bad Gateway" when attempting to load the Threat Analytics login page over port 443. They can log into the Threat Analytics Administration page through port 3000 and see that the Threat Analytics engine status is "loaded" rather than "active".

Cause

The Threat Analytics appliance did not meet the minimum resource requirements, preventing some of the services from starting successfully. When a Threat Analytics appliance is provisioned with fewer resources than required, the Threat Analytics Administration page will provide a warning at the top.

Resolution

Ensure the Threat Analytics appliance meets the following minimum resource requirements:

1. Shut down the Threat Analytics virtual machine.
2. Adjust the hardware settings to meet the minimum requirements:
   - 8 CPUs
   - 16 GB RAM
3. Start the virtual machine.
4. Log in to the Administration page on port 3000 to verify the Threat Analytics Engine status is now active.
5. Verify access to the login page on port 443.

In the event that manually adjusting the settings does not work, it may be required to delete the current VM and deploy a new one from the OVA with the required resources.

Additional Information

Refer to the Deploy the Symantec Threat Analytics Server documentation page for complete system requirements and deployment steps.
