Issue/Introduction

Track and Trace displays an error message "550 5.7.157 RmsDecryptAgent; Microsoft Exchange Transport cannot RMS decrypt the message"

This is Microsoft rejection error code.

Environment

Email Security.cloud

Cause

The recipient's Microsoft Exchange environment receives the encrypted message but fails to decrypt it. This occurs because the recipient's server cannot access the RMS/MIP decryption service or lacks the necessary configuration to process protected content.

 

Resolution

The recipient mail server administrator or Microsoft team should be contacted in such cases to investigate and fix issues on their end.
