Post VCF 9.1 upgrade - License server error - "One or more assets have been removed but still use license capacity from this license server"

Issue/Introduction

Following an upgrade from 9.0.2 to 9.1.0, an error is observed for the management domain (but not any workload domains) -

One or more assets have been removed but still use license capacity from this license server. You must reclaim used capacity manually.

• On VCF Operations UI > Manage > Licenses & Registrations > management domain - observer red banner error - 

This vCenter system is not licensed by the current VCF Operations instance. Assign a license from this VCF Operations instance to the vCenter system.

Environment

• VCF 9.1.0.0

Cause

• Duplicated adapter_id entries in VCF Operations collector_adapter table and collector_group_adapter table causing adapter discovery issues in the license assignment flow.

Resolution

• Open a case with Broadcom Technical Support to have the issue resolved.
