Avi Registration on NSX Manager Fails with "Error Creating User/Role in Avi Load Balancer Controller" Due to API Version Compatibility Mismatch.

Issue/Introduction

• The customer was attempting to integrate Avi Load Balancer as an endpoint on NSX Manager. During the registration process, the following error was encountered:

"Error creating User/Role in Avi Load Balancer Controller. Please try again."

Environment

• Avi Controller 31.2.1
• NSX Manager 4.2.1

Cause

From the NSX Manager nsxapi.log, it was observed that NSX was communicating with the Avi Controller using API version 20.1.7. The Avi Controller responded with a supported API version of 21.1.3, indicating a version mismatch that prevented successful integration.

Resolution

The issue is resolved in Avi Controller version 31.2.2, which includes support for NSX API version 20.1.7.
