7.5.0 Linux Sensor Changes to Default Group when Group Name Contains Spaces

Issue/Introduction

Installing the 7.5.0 Linux sensor in a sensor group that has a space in the name causes the sensor to get reassigned at registration to the default group. 

Environment

• Carbon Black EDR Sensor: 7.5.0
• Linux: All Supported Versions

Cause

Sensor is sending the urlencoded version of the sensor group name, causing the server lookup to fail and fallback to the Default sensor group. 

Resolution

• Fix will be provided in the future 7.6.0 Linux sensor release. CRE-24189
• To workaround the issue:
  1. Download the sensor installer package.
  2. Open the sensorsettings.ini file for editing. 
  3. In the ConfigName only, replace any %20 with a space in the name. 
  4. Save the sensorsettings.ini file. 
  5. Install the sensor. 

Additional Information

• Upgrading to 7.5.0 Linux Sensor does not change the sensor group. This is only upon the initial registration when a sensor ID is provided.
