Issue/Introduction

  • After upgrading to DX UIM 23.4 CU6, Disk Alarms (e.g., QOS_DISK_USAGE_PERC) are not generated.
  • MCS policies appear in plugin_metric.cfg on the target robot, but the alarm field is set to false.
  • New MCS policies remain in a PENDING_NEW status indefinitely.
  • Alarms may trigger on older versions of the CDM probe (e.g., 7.20) but fail on newer versions (e.g., 8.03).

Environment

  • DX Unified Infrastructure Management (UIM) 23.4 CU6
  • Robot version 23.4.6
  • CDM probe version 8.03 or 8.04
  • Monitoring via MCS (Monitoring Configuration Service)

Resolution

To resolve this problem, please alling robot and probe versions as follows:

  1. Upgrade Robot: Deploy robot_update-23.4.7.2 to all affected robots.
  2. Upgrade CDM: Deploy cdm-8.08 to the target robots.
  3. Validate Policy:
    • Open the Alarm Policy in the Operator Console.
    • Ensure the specific condition for the disk alarm is Enabled.
    • Save the policy to trigger a redeployment.
  4. Verification: Check the plugin_metric.cfg file (via IM or Admin Console) to confirm that the alarm field for the disk metric is now set to true.
