Issue/Introduction

When attempting to create a new sequential modeled dataview in Datadictionary (DDOL), the following errors occur at APPLY time:

  • 1-DDOL000407I - UVIP - DATAVIEW HAS NO RELATED ELEMENTS
  • 1-DDOL000059A - UVUP - ELEMENT NOT FOUND IN RECORD [RECORD-NAME]

Environment

Z/OS

Datacom Datadictionary 15.1

Cause

This error occurs when a sequential modeled dataview is created in the Datacom/DB model instead of the File model within Datadictionary.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, create the sequential dataview using one of the following methods:

Method 1: Create in Ideal (Recommended)

Create the new sequential dataview directly within Ideal rather than Datadictionary. Refer to the documentation for "Defining Unmodeled Sequential File Dataviews."

Method 2: Create in Datadictionary File Model

If using Datadictionary (DDOL), ensure the File model is used:

  1. Enter DDOL.
  2. Access FILEMAINT.
  3. Set the mode to FMM (File Maintenance Mode).
  4. Define the dataview structure within the File model.

For detailed steps, see .
