Issue/Introduction

After migrating network plugins (such as Meraki or SNMP) from Virtual Network Assurance (VNA) to the Unified Collection Framework (UCF), devices may continue to report to the original VNA Data Collector instead of the newly assigned UCF collector. This occurs even when reconciliation is successful, as the underlying MDRItemID remains pinned to the legacy source.

Environment

  • Product: DX NetOps (Performance Management)
  • Version: 23.3.3 through 25.4.8
  • Components: VNA, UCF, Data Aggregator

Cause

A defect in the initialization sequence (DE203292) causes the Data Aggregator to identify the Data Collector before the SyncItemManager can fully initialize. Consequently, when the DC connects, certain type-catalog attributes are removed, preventing the system from updating the MDRItemID to the new collector during the UCF discovery process.

Resolution

Targeted to be fixed in release 25.4.9
