Issue/Introduction

When managing vCenter systems in VCF Operations, the following error is displayed:

  • "Used capacity could not be reclaimed. Check if the license server has connectivity to this VCF Operations instance and try again."
  • The Cloud Account status for the affected domain shows a "Warning" state.
  • Managed vCenter systems may not appear correctly under the Licensing section.

Environment

VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) 9.1.0.0

VCF Operations (formerly vRealize Operations)

Cause

The issue occurs because the "License and vSphere Client plug-in management" integration is disabled for the VMware Cloud Foundation account within VCF Operations.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, enable the integration for the affected domain:

  1. Log in to the VCF Operations UI.
  2. Navigate to Operate > Administration > Integrations > Accounts.
  3. Expand the VMware Cloud Foundation menu and click on the affected domain (e.g., ####).
  4. Click MANAGE INTEGRATION on the Cloud Account Information page.
  5. Toggle the slider to the enabled (green) position.
  6. Verify the label now reads: "License and vSphere Client plug-in management for all vCenter systems associated with this account are active."
  7. Click SAVE on the Manage Integration pop-up.
  8. Click SAVE on the Cloud Account Information page.
  9. Wait for the domain status to transition from Warning to Collecting.

Additional Information

Verify the fix by navigating to Manage > Licensing > Licenses & Registration. The Assets License Status should now reflect the correct core and host counts, and all vCenter systems should be visible.
