NSX-V to NSX-T migration warning during VCF 9.x pre-upgrade check.

Issue/Introduction

When upgrading to VMware Cloud Foundation 9.0 or later, running the SDDC Manager pre-check may display the following error or warning message regarding NSX:

This check notifies that NSX-V to NSX-T migration feature will be removed starting from VCF 9.0 release

Environment

VMware NSX 9.x
VMware Cloud Foundation 9.x

Cause

This message notifies you that in VCF 9.0 and later, support has ended for the NSX Migration Coordinator, which is used for direct migration from NSX-V to NSX-T. Direct migration from an NSX-V environment is not supported in VCF 9.0.

Resolution

If your environment does not use NSX-V, you can safely ignore this message and proceed with the upgrade.

If you are currently using NSX-V and planning an upgrade, the following steps are required:

1. Before upgrading to VCF 9.0, use the NSX Migration Coordinator of the target release to migrate your environment to NSX 4.x.
2. After the migration to NSX 4.x is complete, perform the upgrade to VCF 9.0.
