The required JDBC database driver was not found when generating a report

Issue/Introduction

When attempting to generate a report from the Univiewer Console (UVC) Report Center, the operation fails, and an error message appears indicating that the required JDBC database driver could not be found.

 

•      Expected Behavior: Reports should generate successfully from the UVC-Report Center when a report request is submitted.

•      Actual Behavior: Report generation fails immediately, and the following pop-up error message is displayed:

  The required JDBC database driver was not found. Make sure it exists under <exec> folder of Reporter server. Then, you must save the Database Settings and restart the Reporter server.

Environment

Dollar Universe Reporter Server version 6.x

Cause

The target database to be used by the Reporter server has not been defined or configured in the node settings.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, you must define the target database that the Reporter server should use. Follow these steps:

1. Open the Univiewer Console (UVC).

2. Go to Administration > Nodes.

3. Select the relevant Reporter Server and open its Node Settings.

4. Configure and define the target database settings.

5. Save the updated Database Settings.
