CA Privileged Access Manager - Server Control (PAMSC)

Issue/Introduction

In the latest installations of PAM SC, especially in CP07 or CP08, it has been noticed that installation of CA PAM SC endpoint requires more disk space, to the point that if disk space is tight before the installation, this may fail.

The failure may manifest in many different generic error messages, such us the following:

install_base script and <PAM_SC_HOME>/./_LINUX_X64_1410.tar.Z do not belong to the same version.

resulting from files not being written to the corresponding directory at installation time

Environment

CA PAMSC 14.1 CP07 and CP08

Cause

In the latest versions of PAM SC, twice the amount of temporary disk space as was necessary previously is used now.

In particular, in older versions /opt/CA/AccessControl/server and /opt/CA/AccessControl/client were a symbolic link before the fix and now they are not, so this causes the disk usage increase to twice during installation

Resolution

Please use more disk space
