When enabling traces on the MVS Agent (version 24.4.4 HF2), the agent fails to write trace files, resulting in an access denied error. This occurs because the binary ucxjase attempts to write to the bin directory where permissions are typically restricted (R-X).
The following error is observed in the MVS system logs:
./ucxjase_***_***_***.txtINSUFFICIENT AUTHORITY TO OPENACCESS INTENT(-W-)ACCESS ALLOWED(OTHER R-X)
Agent MVS Java 24.4.4 HF2 and inferior
This issue is caused by a product defect (DE196333) where the user service traces are incorrectly directed to the installation bin directory rather than the configured temp directory.
Update to a fix version listed below or a newer version if available.
