HCX Migration fails with "InterconnectServiceConfigJob failed" following SAN or Storage failure

Issue/Introduction

• HCX migrations fail during initial sync.
• Users may observe "InterconnectServiceConfigJob failed" in the UI and port 8123 communication errors in diagnostics.
• Open IX appliance console shows file system entered read-only mode.

Cause

Underlying storage (SAN) outages can cause the Interconnect (IX) appliance file system to become read-only or enter emergency mode, preventing the HBR (Host-Based Replication) service from starting.

Resolution

• Verify IX appliance health via HCX Manager Central CLI.
• If the appliance is in emergency mode or read-only, navigate to the HCX Service Mesh UI.
• Select the IX appliance and select Force Redeploy to provision a healthy instance.
