Issue/Introduction

  • Physical flow data from a Cisco ACI deployment is missing in the Aria Operations for Networks UI.
  • Virtual flows from the vCenter VDS are visible, but physical flows from the Cisco ACI collector are absent.
  • The user interface reports the collector as healthy, but the CLI indicates that the NetOpaCollector Java service is continuously flapping (restarting on its own) without generating any heap dump files.

Environment

VMware Aria Operations for Networks 6.14.X

Cause

  • The physical flow collection fails because the Cisco ACI collector's data partition (/var/lib/netopa/collector/data/cisco_aci/) reached 100% capacity due to a massive backlog of unprocessed raw data files.
  • This storage exhaustion prevents the netopa-collector service from writing new flow data or processing the existing backlog, halting all physical flow ingestion.
