Database Management Solutions for Db2 for z/OS base products have been installed and the
comprehensive PTF bucket containing all of the available fixes has been received and applied.
However, the accept is failing for 3 PTFs with the following error:
GIM37905E ** ACCEPT PROCESSING FAILED FOR SYSMOD xxxxxxxx, SYSMOD xxxxxxx IS SUP'D IN TARGET ZONE, AND THEREFORE MUST BE SUPERSEDED
DURING ACCEPT PROCESSING.
After in-depth analysis of the Global, Target, and Distribution zones for the specific PTFs involved, the reason for the GIM37905E error condition could not be
determined. Somehow the 'supersede' chain for the impacted PTFs became broken at the distribution level, but the 'how and why' could not be determined.
A sound work-around of adding 'ApplyCheck' to the Bypass parameter on the Accept command for the failing PTFs proved successful.
Once the three PTFs in question were successfully accepted, the remaining applied PTFs could be accepted without
the additional ApplyCheck on the Bypass parameter.
