Issue/Introduction

In VMware Aria Operations, when creating or viewing a dashboard, some widgets may:

• Fail to display any data.
• Show incorrect or unexpected data values.
• Display 'No Data' even when the underlying metrics exist.

Cause

This issue occurs because the View selected as the dashboard's output data source contains invalid or incompatible filters.

For example, if a View is configured with a filter that references a specific object name (such as a 'vCenter Name' filter) that no longer exists or is not applicable to the dashboard's current context, the widget will fail to retrieve the correct data set.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, you must identify and remove the invalid filters from the affected View:

• Edit the dashboard and check the configuration of the problematic widget to identify which View it is using.
• Navigate to Visualize > Views and search for the identified View.
• Check Filters and Remove Invalid Filters
• Save
• Return to the dashboard and refresh it to verify that the widget now displays data correctly.
