UIA Agent NIC metrics not reporting on Red Hat 9 (RH9)

Issue/Introduction

When using the UIA agent (version 20260427 or earlier) on a Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 (RH9) system, NIC (Network Interface Card) metrics fail to report to the DX Operator Console (OC) or Triage/Metric viewer.

• CPU, Memory, and Storage metrics report correctly.
• sysstat is installed and functioning on the host.
• The nic branch is missing entirely from the metric tree in the UI.
• Manual configuration of qos_network_bytes_recv_rate = yes (and similar keys) in cdm.cfg does not resolve the issue.

Environment

• OS: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9
• Agent: UIA (Unified Infrastructure Agent)
• Probe: cdm (packaged with UIA)
• Platform: DX SaaS / DX Operational Intelligence

Cause

This issue is caused by a product defect . The cdm probe component within the UIA agent fails to properly initialize NIC information on the RH9 kernel, preventing the CheckNICUtil and GetNICInfo functions from executing, even if secondary tools like ethtool are present.

Resolution

Engineering has acknowledged this defect. A formal fix is integrated into the end-to-end monitoring updates scheduled for the upcoming SaaS release.

• DX SaaS Release: 26.7.1

Workaround

There is no configuration-based workaround for this defect on Red Hat 9. Users must upgrade the UIA agent to the version provided in the 26.7.1 release (or later) to restore NIC metric reporting.
