The UVMS upgrade on Windows to 7.1.21 fails when performing the "full backup", with the following error in unibackup.log:
Unable to copy "D:\AUTOMIC\univiewer_server\HOSTNAME_MgtServer\app" to Backup Directory "D:\AUTOMIC\univiewer_server\backup_HOSTNAME_MgtServer_upgrade_7.00.12_20260616_095152\backup_HOSTNAME_MgtServer_20260616_095152"
On the backup_data.log we observe this other error:
Insufficient memory
There was a file named exportusers.xml with no permissions in the folder D:\AUTOMIC\univiewer_server\HOSTNAME_MgtServer\app\bin
Directory of D:\AUTOMIC\univiewer_server\HOSTNAME_MgtServer\app\bin

11/17/2023 03:21 PM 10,451 ... exportusers.xml
Delete any files from the installation directory that don't belong to the user that starts the UVMS.
On this case, deleting D:\AUTOMIC\univiewer_server\HOSTNAME_MgtServer\app\bin\exportusers.xml solved the issue.
A defect (DE205000) has been created to improve the backup procedure on Windows to avoid such kind of issues, as backup could also fail in case UVMS was installed on a long path.
Please open a case referencing this article in case you need any assistance with the upgrade procedure.
