Issue/Introduction

  • The upgrade may fail immediately or continue for a prolonged period and eventually fail
  • The error seen is:

Failed to run action on component. Upgrade plan validation failed. The following validation errors were detected: VCF_LCM_FLEET_UPGRADE_400_COMPONENT_NOT_NEEDED_USER_INPUT_SPEC_PROVIDED. Review the validation errors and correct the input data. Ensure all component IDs in the filter exist in the upgrade plan inventory. Verify that all required fields are provided and have valid values.

Environment

  • VCF 9.1

Cause

This is caused when the upgrade is initiated by selecting "UPGRADE ALL" without specifically selecting the VCFA component in the upgrade wizard

Resolution

  • Ensure to specifically select the VCFA component in the upgrade wizard
