nas Unspecified error Microsoft OLE DB Driver for SQL Server Invalid connection string attribute

Issue/Introduction

After the database cluster was rebooted, the nas.log showed this repeat error:

nas: [0x7A7404A0] Database provider is 'MSOLEDBSQL', database 'CA_UIM'
nas: COM Error [0x80004005] Unspecified error - [Microsoft OLE DB Driver for SQL Server] Invalid connection string attribute
nas: NiS bridge: Failed to initialize database.
nas: NiS Bridge is unable to start, retrying: 8

The nas.cfg as well as the data_engine.cfg seemed fine. 

Environment

• DX UIM 23.4 CU7

Cause

• possible db connection string corruption

Resolution

This same issue returned with the nas and it would get stuck in the nas GUI sync process. The connection string was present in Prod and the DR environment but considering the error in the nas log, Invalid connection string attribute, we did the following:

1. Deactivated the nas
2. Saved off the connection string
3. Deleted the existing nis_connection_string
4. Activated the nas
5. Held down the SHIFT key and double-clicked the nas and it opened within a few seconds in both environments without any further/significant delays.
6. nas GUI/GUI open continued to perform well
