Windows Search Menu does not work when DCS App Control policy is applied on Windows 11

Issue/Introduction

You have applied App Control/Whitelisting Intrusion Prevention policy 6.x on Windows 11 OS and observed that after a reboot the search menu had stopped to work. 

Environment

Windows 11

DCS 6.0x App Control policy (sym_win_app_control_sbp)

DCS 6.10.x agent

Cause

This is a known issue and policy pack fix was released to address it.

Resolution

1. Import the policy pack SDCSSPreventionPolicyPack-v6.10.3-m6.0.0-2026052103.zip or newer 

2. Update the policy 

3. Reboot the OS

After reboot confirm the Windows Search works as expected and the issue is resolved.
