An eEM (Embedded Entitlements Manager) user assigned the JawsAdministrator or JawsUser role is unable to see or access System Alerts under the System menu.
Expected Behavior: Users with administrator-level rights should have full visibility and access to all system-level alerts within the interface.
Actual Behavior: The System Alerts section is completely missing or inaccessible for the affected user.
Product: Automation Analytics & Intelligence (AAI)
Version: 24.x
Component: CA Embedded Entitlements Manager (eEM) Integration
This behavior is caused by an incomplete or misconfigured eEM policy definition. Even though the user holds the broad JawsAdministrator or JawsUser role, the specific explicit permission required to render the alerts in the UI is not enabled within the application's access policy configuration.
To restore visibility of the System Alerts, you must explicitly enable the missing permission within the eEM configuration interface. Follow these steps:
Log in to the CA eEM UI as an administrator.
Select the JAWSApplication from the application dropdown menu.
Navigate to the Manage Access Policies tab.
Locate and edit the specific access policy governing the administrator group or resource permissions.
In the actions/permissions checklist, locate viewSystemAlerts.
Ensure that the checkbox for viewSystemAlerts is explicitly checked (enabled).
Save the policy changes.
Note: After saving the changes, the affected user will need to log out of the AAI user interface and log back in for the updated eEM policy permissions to take effect.
