Issue/Introduction

When deploying the Log Management component in VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) 9.1, the task fails with a generic error message in the user interface: Deploying VCF Component. Status: Failed

Environment

Cause

This issue occurs because the hostname or Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) entered for the Log Management component in the deployment wizard contains uppercase or mixed-case letters (e.g., abc-def-Ghi.com). Currently, upper case letters are not supported.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, re-deploy the Log Management component using lower case FQDN.
