CA Privileged Access Manager - Server Control (PAMSC)

Issue/Introduction

This article provides information regarding the certification and support of CA Privileged Access Manager Server Control (PAMSC) on Amazon Linux 2023 with kernel version 6.12.83-113.160.amzn2023.x86_64.

Environment

  • Product: CA Privileged Access Manager Server Control (PAMSC) - Endpoint.
  • Operating System: Amazon Linux 2023

  • Kernel: 6.12.83-113.160.amzn2023.x86_64

Cause

The PAMSC endpoint fails to load kernel modules (SEOS syscall) on the specified Amazon Linux 2023 kernel version, this is due to the fact that Amazon Linux kernels are frequently updated by the vendor and are required to be certified by Broadcom Engineering on a request basis to ensure compatibility with the latest security remediations.

Resolution

Support for Amazon Linux 2023 kernel 6.12.83-113.160.amzn2023.x86_64 is now available.

  1. Open a support case to request the specific SEOS_syscall and CoExTrace module files for your kernel.
  2. Once received, copy the modules to the bin directory of your PAMSC installation.
  3. Restart the PAMSC services.
