Issue/Introduction

In VMware Live Site Recovery 9, the EDIT button is greyed out and unavailable to click when attempting to modify a protection group.
The Protection Groups interface displays a Protection Status of "OK", a Recovery Status of "Ready", and a Protection Type of "vSAN Data Protection".

Environment

VMware Live Site Recovery 9.0.3

Cause

The protection group cannot be edited directly within the VMware Live Site Recovery interface because it was created via vSAN Data Protection.

Resolution

To modify a protection group created by vSAN Data Protection, perform the modification within the vSphere Client cluster settings:

  1. Log in to the vSphere Client.

  2. Navigate to the hosting cluster environment.

  3. Select the Configure tab.

  4. Expand the vSAN section and select Data Protection.

  5. Select the Protection Groups tab, click the action menu (three vertical dots) next to the target protection group, and click Edit.
