Issue/Introduction

When linking a subordinate region to a focal using the panels in /madmin.  Would these links re-establish after an IPL of the Lpar where the Focal or Subordinate is running?

Environment

Product: NetMaster Network Management for TCP/IP

Resolution

The links re-establish automatically after an IPL or region recycle. Once you have successfully used the /MADMIN panels (Automation Services: Multi-System Support Menu, Select Option - LNK Region) to link your regions, these definitions are stored persistently.

Key Persistence Details

  • Automatic Re-establishment: Links persist across restarts. You do not need to perform manual config updates or re-link the regions via panels after a cycle.
  • Alerting Behavior: When a linked region (Focal or Subordinate) goes down, the active region will receive an alert. This alert clears automatically once the cycled region comes back up and the link re-establishes.
  • Monitoring Status: You can verify the current state of your links by using the shortcut /INMC or entering the command SH LINKS DETAILS
