Issue/Introduction

When attempting to start PAMSC (SEOS) on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 9.8, the service fails to load. Running seload or checking dmesg reveals the following error:

insmod: ERROR: could not insert module /opt/seos/bin/SEOS_syscall: Invalid module formatkernel: seos_1410_80_40: disagrees about version of symbol module_layoutSEOS_load: SEOS_syscall WASN'T loaded

RHEL 9.8 with kernel versions such as 5.14.0-687.10.1.el9_8.x86_64

Environment

PAMSC 14.1 Redhat 9.8

Cause

The PAMSC kernel module (SEOS_syscall) requires certification for specific RHEL kernel symbol layouts. The RHEL 9.8 kernel introduced changes to the module_layout symbol, causing a version disagreement with older PAMSC build.

Resolution

RHEL 9.8 is certified for PAMSC 14.1 as of June 2026. To resolve this issue, upgrade to PAMSC build 14.10.80.52 or higher

Additional Information

If you have to intall unab 14.10.80.40 (the last version) over this pamsc 14.10.80.52 please request to Broadcom Support the Unab version 14.10.80.52 that has been recently created, or backup the report agent prior to unab install to preserve the last one
