Introduction:
After applying VM:Spool Recommended Service RS1510 that is available in PTF RO85598 , VM:Spool fails to initialize.
Question:
After applying VM:Spool Recommended Service RS1510 that is available in PTF RO85598, VM:Spool fails to initialize with the following message:
VMLCFG164E Required PRODUCT record missing from VMSPOOL CONFIG file.
What PRODUCT record is it expecting?
Environment:
Currently we have the following two PRODUCT records in our VMSPOOL CONFIG file:
PRODUCT VMOPERATOR operator
PRODUCT VMSISERV VMANAGER
Answer:
This change was introduced with PTF RO63233 which is part of the RS1510 collection.
VM:Spool does not have a documented and supported method of configuring the product to use a tape management system other than CA VM:Tape or CA VM:Spool to manage the tapes used for spool file backups. The solution for this problem, PTF RO63233, adds a new keyword, MOUNTEXT, to the TAPEPOOL record in the VMSPOOL CONFIG file. PTF RI63292 is the associated Product Documentation Change that describes the new keyword.
With this update, came a change to VM:Spool's behavior and checking for a PRODUCT VMTAPE configuration file record.
Add a PRODUCT VMTAPE configuration file record.
Additional Information:
PTF RI63292 is the associated Product Documentation Change that describes this change and new keyword.
