Issue/Introduction

The province of British Columbia in Canada is moving to permanent daylight savings time (UTC-7). This will affect the time zone for servers in the region.

Cause

The Government of Canada is changing the time zone for British Columbia to be permanently on daylight savings time starting Nov. 1, 2026 when the clocks would have previously been turned back.

Resolution

SiteMinder uses the Operating System (OS) time and will automatically be updated when the OS is updated to use the new time zone information.

It is recommended to review the OS time zone information and update it appropriately.
