After upgrading components through SDDC to version 9.0.2, the NSX upgrade fails to finalize through the User Interface (UI). The process is blocked during the pre-upgrade check phase.
Symptoms:
The NSX Manager UI displays a failure during the `FINALIZE_UPGRADE` stage.
Pre-check logs indicate a version mismatch between NSX and the Workload Control Plane (WCP) clusters.
Error Message seen when running the Finalize Upgrade through NSX UI:
`Pre-upgrade checks failed for FINALIZE_UPGRADE: Incompatible WCP clusters with NSX version exist. Please upgrade the WCP clusters before upgrading NSX. Precheck failed because NSX version 9.0 requires minimum WCP Version to be 9.0.0.0 whereas the current WCP Version is 0.1.12. Following WCP versions are available 9.0.2.0, 9.0.2.0 for cluster'
VMware NSX 4.2.1.0
VMware SDDC/VCF 9.0.2
NSX version 9.0 (as part of the VCF 9.0.2 stack) enforces a minimum Supervisor/WCP version of 9.0.0.0. If the Supervisor clusters in vCenter are still running an older version, the NSX finalization logic will block the upgrade to ensure compatibility and stability of the Workload Management components.
To resolve this issue, the Supervisor clusters must be updated to a compatible version before finalizing the NSX upgrade.

Steps:
Note:
Ensure the Supervisor upgrade completes fully across all control plane nodes before attempting to finalize the NSX side.
