Issue/Introduction

  • The hostd.log on the source ESXi host the following error:

    In(166) Hostd[###]: [Originator@###sub=Hbrsvc] ReplicationGroup: Disk set mismatch (groupID=H4-#########-####-####-####-##########)
    Er(163) Hostd[###]: [Originator@###sub=Hbrsvc] ReplicationGroup get-server-state request failed, will retry (groupID=H4-#########-####-####-####-#########): The set of disks on the replication server doesn't match

  • The vmkernel.log on the source ESXi host the following error:

    Wa(180) vmkwarning: cpu82:####)WARNING: Hbr: 3649: Command GET_SERVER_STATE failed (result=The set of disks on the server doesn't match up.) (isFatal=TRUE) (Id=-####) (GroupID=H4-##########-####-####-####-###########)

  • The checksumDone reports 0% and is not progressing.
  • Within the VMware Cloud Director Availability UI the replication is showing 'synchronizing' state.

Environment

VMware Cloud Director Availability 4.7.3.1

Resolution

To resolve this issue delete the original VM replication from VCDA and create a new VM replication for the VM.
