Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

  1. The VAMI displays below error,

    To complete the update process, follow the prompts of the Reconfiguration wizard and confirm your current configuration settings.

  2. While Reconfiguring VAMI using Local username below error is displayed,

Environment

VMware Live Recovery 9.x

Cause

vSphere Replication uses certificate-based authentication to connect to the vCenter Server. If the Replication server certificate is changed, vSphere Replication/VMware Live Recovery becomes inaccessible because its database still contains the old certificate. To update the database and successfully reconnect to the vCenter Server, reconfigure appliance using vCenter Single Sign-On (SSO) credentials.

Resolution

  1. Log in to your VRMS Appliance Management UI (typically ).
  2. Navigate to the Configuration or Summary tab.
  3. Click Reconfigure to allow the appliance to fetch the renewed vCenter Server certificates.
  4. Update the vCenter Single Sign-On (SSO) details , and accept the new certificate thumbprint.
  5. Complete reconfiguration by clicking on finish.

Note: After completing the steps above, proceed with the following instructions only if the Site Pairs remain disconnected.

  1. Log in to the vSphere Client.
  2. On the home page, click Site Recovery and click Open Site Recovery.
  3. On the Site Recovery home page, select a site pair and click View Details.
  4. Select Site Pair>Summary, and click Reconnect.
  5. Select the services you want to pair. Enter the address of the Platform Services Controller on the remote site, provide the vCenter Single Sign-On user name and password, and click Reconnect.
  6. Repeat steps 3 to 7 for all available pairings.
