When shutting down or rebooting a VMware ESXi host, the system may hang for an extended period at the VMK: shutdown (5/43): LLSwap_Cleanup stage.
This issue is commonly observed on hosts where "Swap to Host Cache" is enabled on SSD storage, particularly following significant VM migration activity or vMotion.
VMK: shutdown (5/43): LLSwap_Cleanup.As a workaround, flush and drain the Host cache.
Note: We also recommend raising a case with your hardware vendor to verify the physical health status of the host.
If you encounter a similar issue, please upload the host logs to the case.
