Verify ongoing hardware compatibility for the planned upgrade from vSphere 8.0 U3 to VCF 9.0.

• ESXi 8.0 U3
• ESXi 9.x
• VMware Cloud Foundation 9.0

Resolution

Verify ESXi 9.0 Certification

All physical hosts must be certified for ESXi 9.0 on the Broadcom Compatibility Guide.

Note: Hardware that was supported for VCF 8.x/ESXi 8.0 is not automatically supported for VCF 9.x/ESXi 9.0.

• Pay particular attention to I/O controllers and NVMe storage devices, as driver requirements have shifted.
