Issue/Introduction

The VMware Live Cyber Recovery global console displays the following status alerts for a protected site:

  • "Connector SQL Cluster in protected site #### is unable to reach vCenter ####."
  • "Connector SQL Cluster in protected site #### is unable to reach cloud file system ####: Connection to the cloud file system was unsuccessful on Port 443."

Diagnostics performed from the connector console via the drc network test utility confirm a communication failure to the SCFS destination, returning a status of UNREACHABLE.

Environment

  • Product: VMware Live Cyber Recovery (VLR)
  • Component: Disaster Recovery Connector (DRC) appliance
  • Version: Post-GA

Cause

The underlying technical cause for the network path failure between the connector deployment layer and the SaaS Cloud File System (SCFS) endpoints may vary. Persistent Port 443 connection failures often indicate degraded runtime components or localized software configuration states within the appliance.

Resolution

To resolve the persistent connection failure, execute a complete redeployment of the affected Cyber Recovery connector components:

  1. Log in to the Disaster Recovery Connector (DRC) console as user admin.
  2. Verify the current network configuration parameters by running the command: drc show
  3. Remove the Connector: Follow .
  4. Download New OVA: Obtain the latest version from the VMware Live Cyber Recovery UI as detailed in .
  5. Deploy Connector: Deploy via the vCenter Server UI. Reference .
  6. Configure VM: Complete the setup via the VM Console. Reference .

Redeploying the appliance restores the platform to a known good state and forces a clean cryptographic and network registration handshake.
