Issue/Introduction

This article clarifies the versioning relationship between the Usage Meter appliance and the products it meters, specifically confirming that version numbers do not need to be synchronized.

 

Environment

VCF Usage Meter 9.x

Resolution

VCF Usage Meter is an independent metering appliance and is not a component of the VCF Bill of Materials (BOM) that requires synchronized versioning.

There is no requirement for the Usage Meter version to match the VCF version (e.g., Usage Meter 9.1 does not require VCF 9.1).

To ensure successful data collection, compatibility is determined strictly by the Product Interoperability Matrix.
