Issue/Introduction

When creating VCF Automation 9.x, the error message "Need a valid FQDN" is displayed on the "Components" page within Fleet Management.

Environment

Fleet Management 9.x
VCF Automation 9.x

Cause

The issue occurs because the DNS record for the VCF Automation node is configured using camel case instead of lowercase letters.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, ensure that the DNS records are strictly in lowercase:

      1) Access your DNS server configuration.
      2) Locate the DNS records for the VCF Automation nodes and the associated Virtual IP (VIP).
      3) Update the DNS records so that they consist entirely of lowercase letters.
      4) Save the changes and retry the VCF Automation creation process.
