Issue/Introduction

The ESXi host might intermittently become unresponsive on follow situation.

  •  The ESXi host is connected to FQDN-based NFS server.
  •  The FQDN is resolve to multiple IP addresses.
  •  Some NFS server IPs are temporarily unreachable.
  •  There is action of refresh with the NFS datastore, for example storage rescan.

During the unresponsive state, multiple ESXi services, such as hostd, python, localcli and esxcfg might also fail or become unresponsive.
The affected hosts typically reconnect to vCenter automatically after some time.

Resolution

This issue is resolved in the VMware ESXi 8.0 Update 3i (Build 25205845)
