Issue/Introduction

When attempting to  create a launch, certain tasks do not appear in the selection list. However, these identical tasks are clearly visible and accessible when viewing the standard list of Tasks via the Univiewer Console (UVC).

Expected Behavior: All tasks available for execution should be selectable during the launch creation process.

Actual Behavior: Specific tasks are hidden from the launch window despite being visible in the general UVC task list

Environment

  • Application: Dollar Universe Application Server version 7.x

  • Interface: Univiewer Console (UVC) version 7.x

Cause

This behavior is standard operational functionality. The missing tasks are configured as Template Tasks. In Dollar Universe, template tasks serve as blueprints and cannot be directly launched or executed. Only active, non-template tasks can be selected for a launch.

Resolution

To make these tasks available for launching, they must be converted  into non-template tasks. You can achieve this using one of the two options below:

Option 1: Duplicate and Convert Manually

  1. Open the Univiewer Console and navigate to your list of Tasks.

  2. Locate the required template task, right-click, and select Duplicate.

  3. In the properties of the duplicated task, locate and uncheck the "Template Task" checkbox.

  4. Save your changes. This new, non-template task will now be available in the launch window.

Option 2: Deploy and Instantiate via UVC

  1. In the Univiewer Console, navigate to Deployment.

  2. Select the template tasks you wish to deploy.

     3. Move to the Destination section.

       4. Select the Management Unit radio button.

     5. Check the following options to automatically convert the templates during deployment:

    • "Copy and instantiate on Management Unit"

    • "Use the template name as target MU...."

     5. Click Send
