"SDDC Manager GUI hangs on spinning blue circle due to failed VxRail Manager marvin service"

Issue/Introduction

After logging into the SDDC Manager UI, the dashboard remains on a loading screen with a blue spinning circle
The "initializing" message does not appear.
SSH access to the SDDC Manager and vCenter remains functional.
The environment is running VCF on VxRail

Environment

VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) 4.x, 5.x 
VCF on VxRail
VxRail Manager

Cause

In a VCF on VxRail architecture, the SDDC Manager relies on communication with the VxRail Manager for hardware management integration. 
If the `marvin` service on the VxRail Manager is stopped or in a failed state, the SDDC Manager UI hangs during the initialization of these integration components.

Resolution

1. Log in to the SDDC Manager appliance via SSH using the `vcf` user and elevate to `root`
2. Run the SOS tool to verify the health of integrated services:
    `/opt/vmware/sddc-support/sos --services-health --domain-name ALL`

3. Review the output to confirm if the VxRail Manager `marvin` service is reported as **RED** (down/failed)

4. Log in to the VxRail Manager appliance via SSH.
5. Restart the `marvin` service:
     `systemctl restart marvin`
6. Wait 5–10 minutes for service initialization.

7. Refresh the SDDC Manager GUI to verify access.

 

Additional Information

If the issue persists, ensure that SSH is enabled on the Management vCenter Server, as this is also a prerequisite for GUI initialization. SDDC Manager spinning blue circle
