Unable to power off vIDM nodes with error LCMVSPHERECONFIG1000057 in Aria Suite Lifecycle

Issue/Introduction

Unable to power off VMware Identity Manager (vIDM) nodes from VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle. The operation fails, and Aria suite lifecycle UI displays the following error message:

Error Code: LCMVSPHERECONFIG1000057

Provided vCenter Credentials are not valid.  Retry after providing correct username and password
Failed to check the power state of the host <hostname-of-vIDM-VM>.  Retry after providing required details.  Optionally, graceful shut down can be skipped, by setting the skipGracefulShutDown to 'true' after shutting down the VM(s) directly from the vCenter.  (vim.fault.InvalidLogin) { faultCause = null, faultMessage = null }

Environment

VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle 8.18.x

VMware Identity Manager 3.3.7

Cause

This issue occurs because the virtual machine identification details (specifically the host FQDN and hostname) or the vCenter credentials are incorrectly configured or missing for the vIDM nodes within the VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle parameters.

Resolution

Below are the steps to resolve the issue:

• Navigate to the Retry Request screen in VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle for the failed power off operation.

• Correct the virtual machine details for all three nodes as required.

• Ensure the FQDN and hostNameForRetry fields are accurately populated with the correct node hostnames.

• Verify that the vCenter Username, vCenter Host, and password are valid and correct.

• Click Submit to process the retry request.
