Issue/Introduction

On VCF Operations UI - on this page an error is shown - Fleet Management > Identity & Access > VCF Instances

This capability is not applicable for your license. Ensure VCF entitlement is assigned to x.x.x.x for enabling the management capabilities.

Environment

VCF Operations 9.x

Cause

The VCF Operations integration registry contains duplicate vCenter Server adapter instances targeting the identical vCenter Server endpoint. When the embedded VCF SSO configuration workflow executes, the internal validation engine queries the integration registry to verify the VCF entitlement against the vCenter endpoint. The presence of duplicate entries creates an API routing conflict. The service evaluates the stale or improperly configured redundant adapter instead of the primary licensed adapter, resulting in a false entitlement denial and halting the configuration task.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, the duplicate routing conflict must be eliminated from the VCF Operations integration registry:

  • Authenticate to the VCF Operations user interface.
  • Navigate to Administration > Integrations
  • Review the configured adapter instances to identify the duplicate vCenter Server endpoints targeting the same IP or FQDN.
  • Delete the duplicate vCenter adapter instance and preserve the VCF-integrated vCenter.
  • Wait for the primary vCenter adapter to complete a successful collection cycle.
  • Select the VCF adapater and enable "activate management". Once activated apply the license for the vCenter and proceed with enabling identity & access.
