Question:
Using the CA ESP Workstation Workload Director with option "View Completed Applications", and a subscription filter. Gets dialog box containing: "There are no applications on server_name:port server satisfying the xxx filter!". The completed applications are not displayed, yet they can still be seen on the CA WA ESP CSF (Consolidated Status Facility) panel in TSO/ISPF. The application status is COMPLETE.
Environment:
CA Workload Automation ESP Edition r11.4
CA ESP Workload Automation Workstation Option r11.3
Answer:
The CA ESP Workstation Workload Director retrieves application records from the APPLFILE. When the application tracking record (ATR) is no longer in the APPLFILE, the application is not displayed in the Workstation Workload Director. The CSF uses information from the ESP address space memory.
Additional Information:
One of the following commands may be issued to confirm that the ATR is no longer in the APPFLILE:
- "LAP applname.gen ALL DUMP" should return the following message:
ESP1164W REQUESTED GENERATION OF APPL applname NOT FOUND
- "LAP applname.0 ALL DUMP" should return the ADXE (Application Descriptor Index Entry) and message "APPLICATION NO LONGER ON APPL FILE"
