A refresh of a CA ACF2 CPF record [F ACF2,REFRESH(OPTS),TYPE(CPF] fails with message:  ACF79940 CPFCVT anchor address cannot be obtained

 

Why is this refresh command failing?

Resolution

The ACF79940 message usually indicates that the CPF records are not in memory, meaning that CPF is not active.  When CPF is started, then the Control CPF records are read into memory.  After CPF is started then the REFRESH command is needed to implement any database C(CPF) record changes in memory.
