Issue/Introduction

VMware Aria Operations inventory sync fails within VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle. The following error messages are observed:

• Error Code: LCMVROPSYSTEM25050

• VMware Aria Operations Root password is invalid for the given address. Retry with correct credentials

• SSH authorization failed with provided root password for <REDACTED_HOSTNAMES>. Verify the credentials and retry.

Environment

VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle 8.18.x

VMware Aria Operations 8.18.x

Cause

The root password for the VMware Aria Operations appliance stored in the VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle Locker does not match the actual root password on the appliance, resulting in an SSH authentication failure during the sync operation.

Resolution

 

• Log in to the VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle UI.

• Navigate to Locker > Passwords.

• Locate the password entry associated with the affected VMware Aria Operations node.

• Update the password entry to match the correct, current root password of the VMware Aria Operations appliance.

• Navigate back to the VMware Aria Operations environment within Lifecycle Operations and retry the inventory sync.
