Issue/Introduction

When attempting to pair a Telco Cloud Automation (TCA) Manager with a Telco Cloud Automation Control Plane (TCA-CP), the following behavior is observed:

  • The pairing status in the UI transitions to Paired.
  • The Eventmesh status remains Disconnected.
  • VIM (Virtual Infrastructure) components may show an Unknown or Degraded status.
  • Redeploying appliances or switching between self-signed and CA-signed certificates does not resolve the issue.

Environment

TCA 3.4

Cause

This is caused due to the authorization failure. The user account used for pairing lacks explicit administrative privileges (System Administrator rights) within the vCenter Server or lookup service. Without these top-level permissions, the TCA manager cannot successfully register solution users or establish the message broker topology.

Resolution

Verify and Update Permissions

  1. Log into the TCA Appliance management interface (typically port 9443).
  2. Unpair the existing degraded TCA-CP connection.
  3. Initiate a new pairing operation.
  4. Ensure that the credentials supplied belong to a user explicitly granted the System Administrator role in the vCenter Server and SSO domain. Avoid relying solely on nested group permissions.
