Issue/Introduction

  • The Failover Recovery Plan task remains stuck at a specific percentage (e.g., 84%) in the vCenter Recent Tasks pane.
  • Virtual machines (VMs) appear powered on at the target site, but the Recovery Plan status does not update to "Completed."
  • Restarting the vCenter Server or the Site Recovery Manager (SRM) appliance does not resolve the issue.

Environment

VMware Live Recovery 9.x

Cause

The issue occurs when a Recovery Plan task becomes hung or enters an incomplete state, often due to a failure in previous attempt.

Resolution

  1. Navigate to the Site Recovery UI.
  2. Select Recovery Plans and locate the stuck plan.
  3. Manually Cancel the current "In Progress" or "Incomplete" Recovery Plan.
  4. Verify the plan status changes to "Recovery Interrupted" or "Completed."

Additional Information

If the task remains visible in vCenter Recent Tasks but is finished in SRM, follow Clear stale tasks from the vCenter "Recent Tasks" panel
