Issue/Introduction

When attempting to upgrade the Dollar Universe Application Server (DUAS) on a Linux or UNIX platform, the upgrade procedure fails and aborts unexpectedly.

Environment

 

  • Product: Dollar Universe Application Server (DUAS)

  • Version: 7.x

  • Operating System: Linux / UNIX

 

Cause

The DUAS target company's environment has not been loaded into the current terminal session. Because the environment variables are missing, the upgrade script cannot detect or validate the existing registered DUAS instances on the machine.

 

Resolution

To resolve this issue, you must load the specific instance environment variables before initiating the upgrade. Follow these troubleshooting steps:

  1. Load the DUAS company's environment by running the following command in your terminal:

cd /path_of_the_duas_node

. ./unienv.ksh

 2. Execute the upgrade script  again from the same terminal session.

Additional Information

If the upgrade still does not work after successfully sourcing the environment, it is possible that the tracking folders or registration files for that specific company/node are missing or corrupted. 

In this scenario, please zip the following directory and send it to Technical Support for further analysis:
/var/opt/ORSYP/.Installer/
